He was born in 1969.07.24 in Katowice
(Poland). The graduate of Polish philology of Silesian
University in Katowice (1993, the graduate's work:
"Transcendences of words at Polish contemporary
theatre"). He is the founder and art director
of Teatr A Part (Theatre A PART).
Main professional interest: experimental, innovative,
visual, physical and interdisciplinary theatre art
in theory and practice.
Artistic Works
Since 1985 till the end of 2003 he was
connected with experimental theatre group Teatr
Cogitatur as actor, the director and collaborator
in range the staging and technique of scene. As
a member of Teatr Cogitatur team he participated
in many festivals and the theatre events in Poland
and abroad: in Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Greece,
Spain, Netherlands, South Korea, Germany, Romania,
Slovakia, Sweden, Great Britain, Byelorussia and
Hungary. He played in performances by Teatr Cogitatur
entitled: Totentanz in Polen, Castles of Transylvania,
Mein Herz ist schwer, Cabaret Neopathetique, Il
fondo d'oro as well as in many occasional theatre
small projects. He co-operated during creation of
Four Dreams of Hölderlin - indoor perfomance and other later creations by
Teatr Cogitatur.
In 1994 as a collaborator of Teatr Biuro
Podróży from Poznań he participated in preparations
to Great Britain tour (Stockton-on-Tees, Edinburgh).
In 1996 he staged with team of Teatr
Cogitatur outdoor spectacle Passion, based on
own script.
As the script writer and the director
he realized with team of Teatr Cogitatur outdoor
performance Femina (work-in-progress: 1998, first
night performance: 1999). The performance was presented
during many theatre festivals in Poland (for instance:
Malta Festival in Poznań, Art of the Street Festival
in Warsaw, Festival of Street Theatre in Jelenia
Góra) and abroad (for instance: FILO in Londrina
in Brazil, International Theatre Festival in Sibiu
in Romania, Theatre in Park Festival in Bielefeld
in Germany, La Valse des As in Valreas in France,
Al Carrer in Viladecans in Spain, Viva Cite in Rouen
in France, Arena Festival in Erlangen in Germany,
FITBH in Belo Horizonte in Brazil, Feria de Teatro
de Aragon in Huesca in Spain, Festival d'Aurillac
in France, Limburg Festival in Holland and Mittelfest
in Italy). The performance was also presented during
World Exhibition Expo 2000 in Hannover in Germany
(2001), during Days of Silesian Voivodeship in Bratislava
in Slovakia (2001) and during Presentations of Polish
Culture in Zaragoza in Spain (2003).
In 2004 he found the new theatre institution named Stowarzyszenie Teatralne A PART (Theatre Association A PART) and he realized large scale outdoor performance El nino prepared with team of Teatr Cogitatur, performing with Stowarzyszenie Teatralne A PART (work-in-progress: 2003, first night performance: 2004). The spectacle was presented in Katowice, Warsaw, Białystok, Kalisz, Lublin, Cracow, Gdańsk (Poland), Novi Sad (Serbia and Montenegro), Brasilia (Brazil), Mantova (Italy) and Holzminden (Germany).
In 2004 he also realized second version of performance Femina (entitled Femina v.2). The performance was presented in Zadar, Sisak and Pula in Croatia, Amsterdam in Netherlands, Stockton in England, Białystok, Kalisz, Katowice, Warsaw, Jelenia Góra, Kołobrzeg, Olsztyn in Poland, Mantova in Italy, Valladolid in Spain, Yangpyeong in South Korea and Brest in Belarus.

non-verbal
stage seance Basic Needs - presentations in Chorzów,
Warsaw, Poznań, Katowice and Tychy in Poland, Alexandria in Egypt,
Kolarovo in Slovakia, Erlangen in Germany and Podgorica in Montenegro.
In 2007 he realized and directed solo project by Monika
Wachowicz entitled Hourglass, presented many times in Poland and in Czech Republic, San Marino, Romania, Germany, Slovakia, Bylarus, Russia and Egypt.
Co-director of site specific project Venus Labyrinth by Cantabile 2 from Danmark, prepared in co-operation with Theaterlabor Bielefeld and Theatre A PART, presented during Internationales Theaterfestival 360° in Bielefeld in Germany (2008).
In 2009 he realized and directed two spectacles: Lullaby (solo project by M. Katarzyna Gliwa) and Faust (outdoor performance), presented in various places in Poland and abroad.
Instructor of theatrical workshops for
youth and students: many times in Katowice as well
as in Łódź, Manchester (Great Britain), Puławy,
Suwałki, Tarnobrzeg, Erlangen (Germany), Prague (Czech Republic) and others.
Other Professional Works
The author of numerous publications:
about literature, film and especially theatre (the
literature drafts, the reports, the reviews). He
published for instance in: "FA-art", "Opcje", "Nowy Nurt", "Odra", "Scena". In 1995-1998 invited by most important Polish theatre magazine "Teatr" to take part in summing up in Polish theatre seasons inquiries: "The Best in season". The participant of many Polish theatre conferences, for instance in: Katowice, Łódź, Poznań, Suwałki. As scholarship holder of Soros Foundation in Warsaw he participated in 1996 in international seminar "Conceptual writings" in Lublana in Slovenia. The participant of international theatre conference "Paradise Lost?" organized by Felix Meritis Foundation in Rotterdam in Holland (2002).
In 1996-2003 tour manager of Teatr
Cogitatur.
The organizer of hospitable theatre
performances in Katowice. In 1993 as an editor of
Radio Flash he imported to Katowic the performance
Giordano by Teatr Biuro Podróży from Poznań. As
collaborator of stage named Scena 113 of Upper Silesian
Cultural Center he co-organized performances of
British alternative group Man Act (1994). He co-organized
a lot of presentations of experimental and innovative
performances on Teatr Cogitatur's stage. The originator
and co-ordinator of cycle of demonstrations the
best accomplishments the author's theatre (1997-1999).
Co-founder and artistic director of
Theatre Festival A PART (1994, 1995), meanwhile
since 1996 till today the director of International
Theatre Festival A PART (up to here 15 editions).
The participant of many events and conferences
in Europe. In 1997 as scholarship holder of Soros
Foundation in Warsaw he participated in seminar
"The Philosophy and Practice of Performing
Arts Festivals" in Edinburgh in Great Britain
during World Arts Festival. In 1998 he participated
in second edition of this event, which took place
in Sibiu in Romania, meanwhile in 1999 in third
edition during Autumn Budapest Festival in Hungary.
In 1998 he was a guest of Manchester Street Ahead
Festival in Great Britain. The participant of conferences
IETM Informal European Theatre Meeting (Helsinki
- Finland 1999, Prague - Czech Republic 2000, Lille
- France 2001). The guest of Avignon Festival in
France (2000), International Theatre
Festival "Golden Lion" in Lviv in Ukraine
(2000), Objectif Danse in Brussel in Belgium (2007, 2009), Kiosk in Zylina in Slovakia (2008) as well as Dublin Fringe Festival in Ireland (2008) and others.
